How it is built
Air, not foam
Foam has one firmness and it is whatever the factory decided. CloudSeat is a grid of connected air cells under a knitted cover. Air moves between the cells as you shift, so the surface keeps adapting to you rather than compressing into one flat slab. Pressure spreads across the whole seat instead of collecting on the tailbone.
The channels between the cells do a second job. They let air pass underneath you, which is the difference between arriving comfortable and arriving damp.

It stays where you put it
A cushion that slides forward every time you shift is worse than no cushion. The underside is textured across its whole face, so it bites into fabric seats and holds on leather. Sit down first, then top up the last of the air, and it presses itself into the seat pan.
Your lower back stops taking the strain
When the seat is flat and hard, your pelvis rolls back and the lumbar curve collapses. Lifting the seat surface and supporting it evenly lets the pelvis sit upright, which is the whole reason the ache in the lower back fades rather than just the soreness underneath.

Before you order
Will it fit an economy seat?
It is sized for standard seating, which covers economy aircraft seats, car seats, office chairs and stadium benches. Because it inflates rather than holding a rigid shape, it settles into the seat pan rather than perching on top of it.
Do I need a pump?
No. You inflate it with your own breath in three or four goes, and deflate it by opening the valve and pressing the air out. There is nothing to charge and nothing to lose.
Can I take it through airport security?
Yes. It is fabric and air, with no batteries and no liquid, so it packs in hand luggage without issue. Most people leave it deflated in the bag and inflate it once they are seated.
Will it slide around on a leather seat?
The underside is textured to grip. On very smooth leather it helps to sit down and settle before topping up the last bit of air, which presses the base into the seat.
Does it make the seat too high?
You control that. Inflate it fully for maximum lift, or run it softer if you would rather stay lower in the seat and just want the pressure spread out.
How do I clean it?
The cover is bonded to the air core, so it is not machine washable. Wipe the surface with a damp cloth and a little mild soap, let it air dry fully, then deflate and fold it flat for storage.
